Neema Omary Danga holds
a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture General from Sokoine University of
Agriculture 2017. She began building her career at World Vision Organization at
Kagera Cluster-Misenyi AP, where she served as a livelihood and resilience
facilitator for farming-related problems. In 2018, she joined Kagera Sugar
Limited as a graduate trainee for sugar cane production, and in 2019, she
joined Mtibwa Sugar Limited as section manager for sugarcane production, where
she served the position until 2022. Despite that, she worked and gained more
experience in agriculture production and administrative area. Neema's interest,
was in research, therefore while she was working for all the organizations, she
continued to apply for research posts until March 2023, when Tanzania
Agriculture Research Institute (TARI) employed her. She currently works with
TARI Dakawa Center as a research assistant. She is interested in plant
breeding, particularly identifying the genes behind disease resistance in rice.
She, therefore, intends to pursue further studies (a Master's degree) in her
field of interest in order to advance her research career, especially strengthening
her writing abilities for research proposals, publications, and grant-winning
projects.
