TARI Dakawa collaborates with a number of public and private research and other institutions to execute its duties. Below are some of the ongoing collaborative research activities:
- Korea Africa Food and Agriculture Cooperation Initiatives (KAFACI) in strengthening rice breeding program using the anther culture technique through the project titled Enhancement of High Yielding Rice Germplasm and Breeding capacity of Rice producing Countries in Africa
- Advanta Seed International: Evaluating Rice hybrids in different rice agro-ecologies of Tanzania (six rice hybrids); currently undertaking Advanced Yield Trials
- African Agricultural Technology Foundation: Evaluating Rice hybrids in different rice agro-ecologies of Tanzania (seven rice hybrids), again at levels of advanced yield trials
