Today at TARI Maruku we had the opportunity to be visited by the Banana Steering committee which includes researchers from Uganda, Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda and DRC Congo where they were hosted by Dr. Mpoki (who is also a member of the steering committee).The aim of the visit was to see and learn the various activities that TARI is doing especially in the banana crop and at the end of the day to see how these Institutions in the sense of NARO, IITA and TARI can increase cooperation to ensure that our farmers get the best and in time. The visitors visited the plantations and saw various production activities here at on station, they also had the opportunity to visit the banana farmers,  and they also managed to arrive at the Katoma Banana market and see and hear for themselves how that type of Banana (FHIA) contributes significantly to increasing the income of farmers and traders.
