Academic qualifications, work and experiences.

She is a soil research scientist holding a Bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences and Management and Master of science in Soil Science and Land management at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania.

Currently employed by the Ministry of Agriculture under Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute. She has 10 years of experience in the field of Agriculture specifically soils research. 

Professionally She has involved in a number of soil research activities for different crops such as soil characterization, mapping soil types and investigation of the responses of soils to known management practices and undertaken research experiments to determine response of specific soil types to different soil management.

She has participated in various Environmental Impact Assessment projects to assess various environmental and health impacts associated with the established projects in Tanzania.

Ms. Lwiza is a member of several professional associations such as Tanzania Women Leaders in Agriculture (TAWLAE), Environmental Watch Association of Tanzania (EWAT) and Soil Science Society of East Africa (SSSEA)

Research interest

To evaluate soil related challenges hindering crop productivity especially for small holder farmers.
