Qualifications, Work and Experiences
Badi
M. Bao is a Food Technologist and Human Nutritionist focused on developing
various post harvest technologies and nutritional value added products in root
crops and sugarcane at TARI-Kibaha.
He
completed his Bachelor degree in Food Science and Technology at Sokoine
University of Agriculture (SUA), Morogoro, a Master’s degree in Food Technology
from Ghent and Leuven Universities, Belgium. He earned also another Master’s
degree in Human Nutrition from Open University of Tanzania (OUT).
He
has worked in meat and diary industries in areas of quality assurance and food
product development. He is the member of Non grain starchy staples committee,
responsible for developing standards at Tanzania Bureau of Standards (TBS)
since 2018.
Currently
He is a Head of Root Crops Program at TARI-KIBAHA, coordinating demand driven
research in root crops specifically cassava and sweet potato.
He
is a self-motivated, very organized, detail-oriented Food Technologist and
Human Nutritionist with excellent organizational skills, who possesses the
ability to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team.
