Tanzania Agricultural Research Institute (TARI) Ifakara Center has participated in the Inauguration Activities of the 2023-2024 Agricultural Season in Ifakara Town Council. The launch took place on 27/10/2023 in Mwaya County

TARI Ifakara has participated by showing various technologies, including the best rice seeds with high yield and productivity that are compatible with climate change.

In addition, the official guest at the launch was Kilombero District Head represented by Adv Innocent Magesa said

"The government's strategy is to remove the farmer from traditional farming and go to commercial farming".

Speaking to the people of Kilombero, Magessa has asked the farmers to change their thinking in agriculture and thus to get rid of conventional agriculture and thus focus on agribusiness because large investment in the industrial sector goes hand in hand with investment in the agricultural sector and especially agribusiness.

The citizens of Ifakara Town Council have been requested to take advantage of the opportunity of the agricultural season by registering themselves in the register of farmers through the agricultural officers present in each ward so that they can be connected to the government database for recognition and thus be able to be reached easily and solve the challenges they face according to their areas , also be able to get agricultural inputs at a subsidized indicative price through agricultural input agents recognized by the government.
