From August 1st to 8th, 2025, the TARI Eastern Zone team—which includes TARI Kibaha, Ilonga, Ifakara, Dakawa, Mikocheni, Mlingano, and Naliendele—participated in the national agricultural exhibition known as Nane Nane, held in Morogoro Region. The Eastern Zone exhibition attracted stakeholders primarily from four eastern regions, with additional from other parts of the country. Many stakeholders attended from Dar es Salaam, Pwani, Morogoro, and Tanga. The TARI pavilion was visited by over 6,765 individuals, including farmers, students, regional officials, seed companies, researchers, journalists, and other related professionals. The event featured displays of various technologies and demonstration plots showcasing specific management practices, providing stakeholders with opportunities to observe, appreciate, and learn.

The guest of honor at the exhibition's opening on August 1, 2025, was Honorable Mizengo Kayanza Pinda, former Prime Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania. He engaged with farmers and other stakeholders, commending the efforts and preparedness demonstrated in sharing agricultural expertise. The event was officially closed on August 8, 2025, by Honorable Dr. Batilda Buriani, Tanga Regional Commissioner, who also reminded the community about the importance of participating in the upcoming leadership elections. The 2025 Nane Nane theme was: 'Elect good leaders for sustainable development in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries.' TARI Eastern Zone was awarded second place in the category of research and training institutions.

The demonstration plots drew significant interest from farmers and other stakeholders, with many expressing keen interest in specific management practices and agricultural technologies showcased on-site. The crops established included coconut intercropped with mangoes, oranges and cowpeas, maize, sorghum, finger millet, pearl millet, paddy rice, sugarcane, banana, cotton, sunflower, various vegetables (such as onion and Amaranthus), spices, sweet potatoes, sisal, cassava, and a range of legumes including soybean, bambara groundnuts, chickpeas, pigeon peas and green gram.

A total of 169 technologies were displayed and disseminated to farmers and other stakeholders, including improved seed varieties, seedlings (Example, Quality coconut seedlings), cuttings, value-added products developed from post-harvest processes (Example, Virgin Coconut Oil-VCO), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Tissue Culture Technology. A total of 2,472 printed materials (Leaflets) were distributed to serve as reference resources for farmers and other stakeholders in the implementation and application of the respective improved technologies.
