The section conduct research on socio economic issues in sugarcane mill growing areas of Tanzania through developing research proposal and research design in response to internal strategic needs, develop data collection processes and tools, carry out data analysis and report writing for ongoing research projects, needs identification for strengthening the capacity of various stakeholders to deliver the desirable expected output.

Mandate: The section has a mandate to ensure that outcomes and impacts of research outputs are monitored and reported.
