Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute (TOSCI) visited TARI –Makutupora Centre in Dodoma, Tanzania for DUS evaluation of five grapevines which are in the process of release as new varieties

Three Officers from Tanzania Official Seed Certification Institute (TOSCI) visited TARI –Makutupora Centre on 12-13 January, 2022 for DUS evaluation of five grapevines which TARI- Makutupora is in the process to release as a strategy to increase number of improved grape varieties.
The grapevines which are under DUS evaluation include three table grapes (Black rose. Alphonce lavalee and Queen of vineyard), wine grape (Syrah) and raisin grape (Ruby seedless). Currently, two wine grapes (Makutupora red and Chenin white) have been released.
