Vegetables

The section of vegetable research at TARI-Tengeru deals with research and development activities of vegetables (exotic and indigenous). It is dedicated to address challenges of vegetable stakeholders in value chain perspectives. The department has human resource and other infrastructure capacitated in vegetable research and development.

We have successfully released several improved vegetable varieties of Tomatoes, Amaranth, African eggplants, Ethiopian mustard and African nightshade with potential traits in insect pests and diseases resistant and nutritional improvement. Therefore, if you are looking for a place to do vegetable research and development or establish partnership and or seeking any service in vegetables, consider us, TARI – Tengeru.
