TARI Naliendele responded the order of the Minister of Agriculture to send a Cashew crop expert in Manyoni Dictrict

TARI Naliendele center is the research institute which has got a national mandate of conducting Cashew, Groundnut and Sesame research. The center has carried out the order from the Minister of Agriculture by sending an expert in Manyoni DC - Singida region specifically for assisting Cashew farmers.
Speaking during a short ceremony to receive an expert named George Lucas held at the Manyoni District Commissioner Office, the National Coordinator for Cashew Research Program from TARI Naliendele, Dr. Geradina Mzena said that as an institution have implemented the order of the Minister of Agriculture Hon. Hussein Bashe as he order them to send Cashew expert in order to assist farmers on good agronomic practices.
"We have carried out the Minister's order to bring this expert who will be assisting farmers so that they can cultivate productive cashew crops by providing training to extension officers, farmers in Manyoni as well as farmers in other neighboring regions," said Dr. Mzena.
Dr. Mzena said that the goal of TARI is to see farmers cultivating the productive cultivation of Cashew crop and they benefit from it also rising economically and contributing to the Government income.
Manyoni DC Executive Director, Melkzedeki Humbe thanked the Government and TARI Naliendele for sending an expert who will cooperate with extension officers and farmers to improve Cashew crop production within the District.
"We are very grateful for the arrival of the cashew crop expert, we believe he will help raise cashew farming in our district and his arrival is a blessing for us considering that the cashew crop is strategic and reliable for raising the economy of our district and the nation as a whole and we will give him great support" said Humbe.
The event receiving an expert was attended by Manyoni District Commissioner Hon. Rahabu Mwagisa, agricultural experts in the district and the Acting Manager of the Manyoni District Cashew Board, Mr. Ray Mtangi.
